Preface

Starting as a cub scout 40 years ago, the author now is serving as a consultant of a rover crew in university. Before colleting the scout stamps 20 years ago, I consider my understanding of the World Scouting was fragmented. One of the major benefits of the hobby is that I started to get more complete picture of Scouting through my own research on the stamps systematically. And I would like to thanks Mr. John Fogg at the public dept. of the UK Scout Assoc. at Baden-Powell House (UKBPH) for letting me quote their article.

On 29 July, 1907, Baden-Powell and some boys set off to Brownsea, starting the pioneering experimwnt for Scoutings. The figures on stamps are the boating activity and a tent they set.
